Our Story Eon Design is the creative partnership between us, Rob and Karen Pisaniello.
We met while studying architecture at the University of Adelaide, and early in our architecture careers, we also worked in hospitality, experiencing firsthand the industry we now design for.
In 2001, we founded Eon Design in Melbourne, inspired by our love of food, gathering, community and design, and the influence of our Italian heritage, where cooking and sharing a meal are central to family life.
Over the years we’ve helped businesses create memorable customer experiences, share their passion for food and community, and create places where food brings people together. We’ve seen how their success can transform entire neighbourhoods. Our journey has allowed us to work alongside both seasoned restaurateurs and talented newcomers at the start of their impressive careers—many of whom have trusted us time and again to be part of their teams and success stories.
Our Core ValuesCrafting spaces neighbourhoods love
First and foremost, our designs are people-focused. Every Eon Design space creates opportunities to interact, socialise, relax and enjoy. Our restaurant and cafe designs encourage connections and positive emotions between people. We always consider each project as part of its neighbourhood and design spaces that connect to street life.
Adapting and re-using
We see value in adapting and repurposing old buildings. By revealing structure, retaining historical features and reinterpreting forgotten spaces in a contemporary way, we breathe new life into old buildings for years to come. In these layered spaces, a minimal design approach can really shine.
Keeping it simple
Simplicity and utility are key to our designs, our processes, and everything we do. We don’t believe you need to create places of luxury and excess to achieve what we feel is important.
Eon Design is a full-service architecture studio registered with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria and The Architectural Practice Board of South Australia, a member of the Association of Consulting Architects and a signatory to Architects Declare.
